Your airspace. Your data.
Final Approach is published and operated by Jake Connolly. It is designed to collect very little information. We do not run advertising trackers, sell personal data or require an account to play.
What stays on your device
Accessibility choices, audio settings, fleet choice and a local copy of your game progress are stored in your browser or app container. Clearing site data may remove the browser copy. The iPhone and iPad app can recover gameplay progress through your private Apple iCloud key-value store; Apple handles that service under your Apple account.
Progress recovery
When you play while signed in with ChatGPT, we may also store a compact progress save containing Academy completion, Career shifts and stars, airport unlocks, rare-aircraft discoveries, mode records and Daily streak information. We identify that save using a one-way hash of the email supplied by ChatGPT and do not store the email itself in the progress record. Public browser play without an authenticated ChatGPT account continues with device-only saving.
Daily Challenge
When a Daily Challenge ends, the game automatically submits the randomly generated controller code, date and airport, score, landings, perfect approaches and best combo to our public Daily board. The board shows only that code and game result; it does not receive your name or email. In the iPhone and iPad app, the numerical score is also submitted to Apple Game Center when you are signed in. Apple processes that score with your Game Center profile under its own terms. Choose Academy, Career or Endless to play without Daily submission.
Support requests
If you contact support, we store your message, an optional reply email, the app version and device details you choose to provide. We use this only to investigate and respond to your request.
Services and technical data
The sector maps are included inside the game and do not request live map tiles or location data. Our hosting provider may process ordinary connection information such as IP address, device/browser type and request time for delivery, reliability and security. The app uses Apple services for purchases, iCloud progress recovery and, when enabled, Game Center; Apple handles those services under its own privacy terms.
Retention and choices
Daily Challenge records older than 90 days are deleted when the Daily service is next used. Support requests older than 730 days (about 24 months) are deleted when a new support request is next accepted. A progress-recovery save remains until it is replaced or you ask us to delete it; iCloud retention is controlled through your Apple account. You can ask us to delete a cloud save or support message sooner by providing the relevant ChatGPT email, controller code or support ticket reference.
